Sonshine Mountain Retreat Center
COVID-19 messed up Plan A camp plans for this summer, but we have a great Plan B. Just our group is going to Sonshine Mountain Retreat Center atop Sonshine Mountain just north of the small mountain village of Mountainburg, Arkansas. Lance and Michelle have been to Sonshine 8-10 times over the past 20 years including last year with a group of high school seniors and college students from DHBC. Enjoy the pics in the gallery below from that trip.
THE COST: Since we’re doing our own camp this year, we’re able to control costs better, but the DH Student Ministry is absorbing much of the cost. Please read the following carefully to know what expenses are required.
- $50 REGISTRATION FEE: Each student will be required to pay $50 unless otherwise arranged because of financial limitations. Adults who are recruited as chaperones will not be charged the $50 fee, but they are free to pay if they want to.
- $40 TRAVEL MEALS: Every student participant who will not be accompanied by a parent on the trip will be required to pay $40 to cover four fast food travel meals. When we stop at a restaurant coming or going on Monday or Friday, Lance will give the student $10 of his/her money to spend on a meal. The student will keep the change. This is basically to insure ahead of time that the student has money to eat (especially on the return trip home).
- NOTE: All adults will be responsible for their own four travel meals and all four travel meals of their attending children.
